A Return to What We Love

MIGILION began with a love of jewelry—and a long journey back to it.

Our founder, GILION LIU, is a jewelry designer from Fuzhou, China. Her story began in a studio where, for more than a decade, she created pieces inspired by African cultures, art, and everyday life. Her designs found their way to customers across Africa and the United States, connecting people through color, form, and craftsmanship.

Then came a deeply personal loss. The breakdown of family relationships and severe depression led her to step away from the work she loved. Seeking quiet, she moved to a secluded mountain retreat, where she lived through a long period of grief and reflection.

Yet her desire to create never entirely left her.

In the colors of gemstones, the irregular surfaces of minerals, and the patient work of making something by hand, she found moments of connection. To GILION, each stone seemed to hold a quiet personality—something to observe, listen to, and understand.

Twelve years after stepping away, she began designing again.

MIGILION grew from that return. It brings together her enduring love of African cultural expression, her respect for nature, and her instinct for sculptural, expressive jewelry. Today, original sterling silver designs sit alongside hand-strung pieces featuring gemstones, amber, and freshwater pearls. Each begins with attention to the material: its color, texture, and the possibilities it offers.

The purpose behind the brand is personal, too. GILION hopes to create jewelry that accompanies people through their own stories—moments of joy, change, uncertainty, and beginning again. For anyone still finding a way through a difficult chapter, MIGILION carries a simple wish: that you may rediscover your confidence, your smile, and the courage to move forward at your own pace.
